BIOGRAPHY

John Di Leo is a multifaceted musical artist. He is an accomplished singer and songwriter, equally at home on guitar, keyboard and bass. He is also a passionate, energetic, experienced performer who knows how to grab an audience and keep them going.

John started playing in clubs as a teen in the mid 70s (see the amazing old gallery shots!), and has since performed in bands, duos and solo at every type and size of venue and event. He is a talented songwriter, a 1984 New York Songwriters' Showcase winner, and composer of countless soundtracks and TV ads.

John's influences are diverse, ranging from the usual rock, blues, pop and folk, to more esoteric jazz, avant garde and every kind of world music. Major influences are The Beatles (of course!), the intelligence of Dylan and Paul Simon, the intense energy and passion of Bruce Springsteen, the vision of Peter Gabriel, and the instrumental prowess of Steve Winwood's Traffic.

John brings all these influences to bear on an energetic mix of unique versions of rock classics, and fun, inspiring originals. All of his performances share the same energy and engagement that have kept some folks coming to see him for literally decades.
